At the end of every shower, I squeegee the glass doors and walls so that the hard water doesn’t make spots. Both of the corners in my shower are very curved (no corners here!). For the last two years, when I would do the left-hand corner, the squeegee smoothly glides across the surface, wiping the water droplets away like a hot knife through butter. The other corner would always stick just a bit for some reason, and I would feel like I had to push harder, or come at it from a different angle… something “extra” to make it move across the surface. It was really frustrating!

Then one day not long ago, my arm was hurting, and I didn’t have the strength to push that hard. So I decided I was going to do the best I could, and just let the squeegee glide over the surface (like I do with the other corner) and magically, it got all the water droplets! I was stunned… here I had been pushing so hard and trying to force the squeegee along the surface, when all I really had to do was relax and just let it glide across.

Sometimes, I think that’s how we approach life. We push so hard to get the result we want, when really all we need to do is just relax and let things flow!

When we try to “make” things happen, or push our own agenda, we might be missing subtle clues, opportunities and coincidences that could actually get us further along our path.

When we let things flow, and we pay attention to what is happening around us, we get to see the amazing serendipity that happens when we set our intention and then set it free into the world. Your Higher Power (God) will support you and bring things into your path to help you along your way.

Your job is to pay attention! Don’t get so caught up in your own agenda or idea of what the path is “supposed” to look like that you miss (or run right over) the things that God puts in your path. Those are the things that will actually get you further down the road toward your intention.

Those who flow as life flows know they need no other force.
