Some times the words don’t come easily. This is one of those times. What are the right words to properly give tribute to one of PiP’s very own?
Ellen, if you were here, we know you’d have those words. You always did. Thanks to your artful use of language in hundreds of grants you wrote, your deep care and compassion for our clients, and your phenomenal organizational skills, you raised millions of dollars for nonprofits that were able to utilize that funding to touch countless lives.
You left an indelible mark on me and on anyone who was fortunate enough to call you family and friend.
And during this time of loss and sadness, all I can think to say is thank you. Thank you, Ellen Lloyd, for renewing my faith in humankind; for giving selflessly to me, to PiP and to our clients; and for being a role model of strength and courage through life’s ups and downs.
I wish you hadn’t left us so soon. Please know you will never be forgotten.
